FAQS You've got questions.Here are some answers. Registration Race Weekend Course Awards Course What are the course time limits? We’re shutting down Charlotte’s major inner-beltway, I-277, so we have to work with the city. We have a VERY strict 13:45 min/mi pace requirement for our race and need to be off of the highway by 9:15am which is mile 5. If you do not think that is possible, we’d love to help you get there! There are plenty of training programs here in Charlotte that we’d love to connect you with. Is Around the Crown 10K walker-friendly? To a degree, yes. With that said, you must maintain a minimum pace of 13:45 min/mi which is achievable through the walk-run method! Runners will need to be off of the highway by 9:15am which is mile 5. If you do not think that is possible, we’d love to help you get there! There are plenty of training programs here in Charlotte that we’d love to connect you with. Participants still out on the race course (after I-277) will be asked to move to the sidewalks and on-course support (aid stations) will close. What can I bring with me on the course? Headphones and water belts are allowed on course. All hydration packs and backpacks are prohibited. Strollers are allowed but must start in the stroller wave for safety purposes. Are dogs allowed on the course? The Around the Crown 10K team is extremely dog-friendly. Our office pup, Huck, would love to join us out on the course however he hasn’t quite developed his spatial awareness skills. This one is unfortunately a no due to the size of the race and the weapons that leashes can become. How can I see the map of the course? Course map coming soon. Please check back in later. We’re finalizing these now, but when we do have them buttoned up with times and details, you’ll be able to find more info here [link] How many water stops are available throughout the course? It’s May in the South. We’ll have 2-3 waterstops to make sure you’re properly hydrated. Event details are still being finalized with the city to assure safety for all.
